About
Echo Relocation
After relocating to the Pacific Northwest from Columbus, Ohio in 2016, guitarist/singer Chris Grandy met likeminded transplants Chris Hughes (drums) and Ian Douglas (bass). They formed what would become Echo Relocation in 2018, and began playing shows in the Seattle area. Just as they were beginning to record their debut album, the 2020 pandemic hit, bringing plans to a halt. Hughes and Douglas both relocated again during the ensuing period, thus leaving the band. Grandy reformed the band a couple years later with a new lineup, eventually finished the album, self-titled, and released it in February of 2025. The band now consists of Grandy, Conner Hancock (bass), Evan Griffiths (electric cello), and Mario Ortega (drums).
Their sound is a combination of heavy psych rock, grunge, and garage alternative, with influences including Pink Floyd, Neil Young, Nirvana, Dinosaur Jr, All Them Witches, and more. Give it a listen and decide for yourself!
